About Us

  • In 2016, an exciting chapter in the history of education unfolded: Avicenna Preparatory School emerged under the auspices of Northwind Education, a consultancy firm with a profound mission—to empower immigrants and refugees through education. Initially focused on tutoring, Northwind Education envisioned a more comprehensive endeavor—a full-time Islamic school dedicated to the education of young students.

In the autumn of 2017, Avicenna Prep commenced its journey, welcoming its first cohort of 15 students. Originating as a K-3 institution, it provided a nurturing environment imbued with Islamic values. Our aim was not merely to educate but also to create a welcoming haven for families new to the country.

Word of our mission spread far and wide, leading to an increasing influx of aspiring students. By the 2019-20 academic year, we were immensely proud to enroll 54 students, expanding our offerings to encompass K-8 education. Even amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic, we remained resolute in our commitment to ensuring the safety and uninterrupted learning of our students.

During these challenging times, our school evolved into a collective community effort, with families, teachers, and staff uniting to uphold the excellence of Avicenna Prep.

In 2022, we took a significant step forward by transitioning into a non-profit institution. This transformation enables us to access additional resources to support a growing number of students. However, our success has led to a new challenge: the limitations of our current facilities. We are steadfast in our determination to provide our students with the finest learning environment and are diligently exploring solutions to address this imperative need.

Reflecting upon our journey, we owe an immeasurable debt of gratitude to our exceptional teachers and staff. They are the unsung heroes of Avicenna Prep, ensuring small class sizes and unwavering dedication to our students' academic success. Their commitment has been the cornerstone of our achievements, and we acknowledge that our accomplishments would not have been possible without their contributions.
